When we purchased Skål in 2023 we found her in a neglected condition, she hadn't been lifted out of the water in a few years, which is very neccessary for a wooden boat. We found the lower stem, original wooden keel, deadwoods and stern timbers all needed replacing. At nearly 100 year's old it was time to give her a new lease of life. Works began in Perama, Greece at 'Tsikis Boatyard' a traditonal wooden boatbuilding yard.

We began by replacing the lower stem with laminated European white oak.
